Tonight marks the first in a series being put on by the Music Population Orchestra, a group that attempts to change people’s expectations of chamber music by allowing influences of pop and other genres to shine through. Both chapters, the Portland and Oslo, Norway musicians will perform a series that blend apprectiations of music and architecture in a free series called “Can You Hear It?” to be performed over four dates, each held in a different “city room.” The first is at the Portland Center Stage Gerding Theater, 7 pm.
