Sale’s on: Moulé is offering a buy-one-get -another-at-30%-off-and-get-another-at-50%-off deal on clothing, and if you spend more than $100 on gifts and accessories, they’ll knock off $25. Both deals are good thru Monday!

I’m kind of freaking out because I wore one of my Mike & Chris hoodies to work on Monday (it was actually really warm out, but the air conditioning always turns my office into an icebox). I live in these hoodies, which came from Nolita. They’re hardly the only store in town to carry the line, but it’s a great example of their knack for buying pieces that you immediately find yourself wearing all the time. Basic, but very good. They just got in a ton of new gear from lines like John Varvatos, Vince, and Velvet, so if you’re looking to stock up on summer staples, now is the time.

I’m pretty much in denial that this weather is happening right now. I’m just going to go on believing that these are the last days of spring and first days of summer, and that they’re just so, so beautiful. In keeping with my unwavering faith in the existence of warm sunshine, here are some new pieces from Tina Richard’s Pastel Apparel out of Vancouver, WA. (She knows about PacNW weather.)
I love the cut of this dress. Abbreviated and waist accentuating are my primary desires in a dress. I’m tiring of the hipster mini mu’umu’u.

And for summer nights she whipped up this jacket with colorful stitching:

This was co-designed with Nathan Carlson of Foundation Garments (2712 NE Alberta), where it is stocked exclusively.
Oh it’s sale season at Marios, at last! Well, almost. The Women’s Designer Sale begins next week, with 30-40% off clothing, handbags, and shoes from small-time designers you’ve probably never heard of, like Prada, Chloé, and Diane Von Furstenberg. It all starts Thursday, May 29th.

Yummy!
Sweet potatoes: Stand Up Comedy is offering 20% off clothing and select jewelry through the end of the month! I like:

Just about everyone I know has at least one wedding to attend this summer, so they’re all looking to drop change on one or two pieces that are going to have them covered for all of it. If you’re a gentleman with generally deep pockets, or want to spend a little (er… a lot) more on something special if, say, you’re the best man at one of these weddings, take note of the Men’s Half-Price Sale beginning tomorrow at Mario’s. If you buy a suit, sport coat, shirt, or tie between tomorrow and the end of the month, you can have a second (of equal or lesser value, obviously), for half the price.

You know I never shop online, but I could probably windowshop online myself to sleep at night every night for the rest of my foreseeable life. And, when it comes to local stores w/online shops, I often use them to check on the inventories before heading in. Souchi has just revamped its online action, and if you check it out now and make a purchase (if you’re me, one that you’ve already gone into the store to try on), you’ll get 10 % off, good through the end of May. Cashmere for summer? Oh yes:

Because he’s not only in a jumpsuit, but because he’s actually jumping, Adam Arnold wins!

Well, I told you he was going to do something weird:

Those are models wearing Adam Arnold at Friday’s benefit for Basic Rights Oregon—not only are they sporting looks from this season’s clothing collection, but also masks Arnold made, telling his models only right before the show that they would be wearing them, and also encouraging them to improvise on the runway. The result was certainly weird, and I thought, quite hilarious. The audience didn’t seem to know what to do, the DJ I don’t think even noticed as he concentrated on spinning “Walk This Way,” and the models did everything from cute/creepy little girl poses to skipping to playing it straight. Meanwhile, Arnold’s head would periodically peep, grinning, from behind the curtain. I about fell out of my chair laughing. Needless to say, it was the most noteworthy episode of the night, though some of what came down the runway is quite worthy of notice as well. See shots of the other designers’ work by Minh Tran after the jump.

Wow, they are really pushing this movie hard. Here’s the latest local event tie-in: At Kalista Salon (137 SE 28th) this Friday at 4 pm, there will be a ticket drop for the premiere, giveaways of posters and Sarah Jessica Parker perfume samples, a drawing for a package of 6 sessions with the Lumiere LED light therapy thingy (a $380 value!), and demos of hair and lash extensions. Then, at the premiere (oh yes I will be there, in the press section, thankyouverymuch on Tuesday the 27th at 7:30, Lloyd Center) there will be more prizes and a runway show (?) of, again, hair and lash extensions. Apparently this movie, hotly—mayhaps even primarily—anticipated for the wardrobe stylings of Patricia Field (I loved her work in the The Devil Wears Prada), is also going to make you want to grow more hair on your head and face. More intriguing is the LED therapy, which promises to solve every cosmetic skin problem afflicting mankind… for a price.

(These outfits, however, do not bode well.)
