Beauty Sex and the City Mania Continues to Sweep Local Fashion & Beauty Establishments

Posted by Marjorie Skinner on Mon, May 19 at 9:35 AM

Wow, they are really pushing this movie hard. Here’s the latest local event tie-in: At Kalista Salon (137 SE 28th) this Friday at 4 pm, there will be a ticket drop for the premiere, giveaways of posters and Sarah Jessica Parker perfume samples, a drawing for a package of 6 sessions with the Lumiere LED light therapy thingy (a $380 value!), and demos of hair and lash extensions. Then, at the premiere (oh yes I will be there, in the press section, thankyouverymuch on Tuesday the 27th at 7:30, Lloyd Center) there will be more prizes and a runway show (?) of, again, hair and lash extensions. Apparently this movie, hotly—mayhaps even primarily—anticipated for the wardrobe stylings of Patricia Field (I loved her work in the The Devil Wears Prada), is also going to make you want to grow more hair on your head and face. More intriguing is the LED therapy, which promises to solve every cosmetic skin problem afflicting mankind… for a price.

(These outfits, however, do not bode well.)
