Just a note to remind you of the launch of Barbara Seipp's fall collection for Isaac Her tonight at Phlox (3962 N Mississippi) from 6-9. Enjoy vodka punch and DJs spinning soul (as well as an outdoor jazz festival out on the street) while you peruse the smart little collection, which proposes high waists, tweeds, and tartans. It's all fully lined and priced in the $100-250 range. I'm fond of the strong zippers in the collection, which pick up on a super-hot trend this season for tougher looking design, but do it subtly, retaining femininity. It's most striking in this skirt, which will get you awesome wardrobe mileage:

You can't see it in this image, but the skirt actually has two zippers, running up both the front and back--hot.

The jumper is an iteration on a popular design originally created for Spring.

These pants look heavier than they are. Even lined, the wool jersey is lightweight and feels comfortable enough for pajamas, but the effect when worn is quite crisp. And the jacket, says Seipp, was the starting point for the entire collection--it has beautiful nuances of color up close.

Look for variations on this dress in the coming months...
