Shopping Guide May Tee Trunk Show Today at Mario's

On of Portland's finest designers and the galvanizing force behind the simmering Portland Fashion Synergy group, May Tee is having a trunk show today at Mario's. Yes, Mario's. Your local source for Prada and Jil Sander has historically been indifferent to local fashion, but May has a knack for breaking the mold—see the Portland based factory FILO that she helped co-found, and where her impeccably precise garments are produced after years of tiring cross-country negotiations with factories in New York. The prices are Mario's-sized, and thus stratospherically out of my reach, but if I were a more moneyed woman, these could easily serve as the backbone of a sophisticated, travel-ready, streamlined wardrobe.
