The Fashion Collective Slideshow

Posted by Marjorie Skinner on Thu, Oct 15, 2009 at 10:52 AM

Monday's Fashion Collective show at the Armory with Fuchsia Lin, Liza Rietz, Emily Ryan, and Idom was the best showing in a week packed with fashion events. If you missed it, don't sleep on the slideshow. A couple clues so you know what you're looking at: Lin's last look is a purple cape—when things go from color to gray you know you've hit Rietz! Ryan's fist look is a shift with an intricate purple panel down the front, and Idom begins with the fuller-figured blond model in the gray dress. Enjoy!

When did it become okay to make a shapeless bag and call it a dress? Anyone with any shape would never wear a lot of these -- they are unflattering. Although there wasn't much to be excited about this week, I still don't know if I would call this the best. A lot of it looks like a home-sewn mess.

Why 20 nearly identical shots of each dress? What's the point of that?
