It's The Fashion... To, Um, "Love Your Kidneys"

Posted by Marjorie Skinner on Tue, Feb 23, 2010 at 12:38 PM

Okay, so the title of the event "It's The Fashion… To Love Your Kidneys" screams more of an emphasis on "benefit" than "fashion." Taking place on World Kidney Day (who knew?), March 13, the fashion show and wine raffle will benefit the Multicultural Integrated Kidney Education Program (MIKE Program). For the purposes of this blog let's stick to the fashion: Kenneth Doswell's Betty Jean Couture, Bon Lou Couture, and Christa Taylor will present their clothing, alongside O'Pearl Jewelry (worst/weirdest homepage photo ever) and purses by The Real McCoy. These benefit fashion shows by nature reach an audience outside the usual fashion show-going crowd, and the age and size versatility of these lines make the chances decent that they'll find some new clients in the crowd. If you go, though, be prepared to contribute: Tickets are $30 a head for the event which will be held at the California Closets Showroom (1225 SE Grand) at 5 pm on March 13.
