As you work out your agenda for this week's First Thursday events, don't forget to pencil in a stop at Parallel, where Portland jeweler Christen Abernethy will be having a trunk show of her entire line. If you've been looking for some fresh jewelry looks, Abernethy has been off the scene for the past four years and has virtually no online presence (pun intended). Her work has an almost gypsy-like feel, with hammered metals and antique coins that look like souvenirs. Perfect for summer travel, or just paired with exotic prints.
The event runs 6-8 pm this Thursday evening (the 6th) at the store, located at 1022A NW Johnson. Click through for more photos of Abernethy's work.
