Fashion / Event Calendar Item: Presoiled Couture

Truth be told, I'm not sold on the name "Presoiled Couture" as the title to the upcoming fashion show for Rio Wrenn's R.A.W. collection. Although the lovely, delicate lingerie pieces are experiments unusual dyes and rusting techniques, posing the question "how soiled is too soiled?" it's a term that hardly does justice to the beauty of Wrenn's work. Nonetheless, this line is known for showstopping moments, and the free presentation scheduled for September 18 at Disjecta (doors at 7, show at 8) is one you shouldn't miss. In the meantime, check out her textile show, "Collections," also opening at Disjecta on September 11 (the reception is from 6-10 pm that evening, and on display through the 26th), and these somewhat disturbing photos of the R.A.W. collection taken by Danger Ninja:
