November Happenings

Posted by Marjorie Skinner on Thu, Oct 14, 2010 at 9:39 AM

October isn't even halfway over, but I've got a number of things penciled in for November. Details are still foggy on some of these, but nonetheless:

— On November 4, Popina will celebrate the grand opening of their forthcoming Pearl District location with a swimwear fashion show modeled by mentally unstable non-models like myself and my perfectly sound of mine colleague at the Mercury, Alison Hallett. Never fear the unkempt reputation of the writing profession: we will be thoroughly waxed by Studio Luxe and otherwise made presentable by hair and makeup professionals. Also we will try not to get too drunk. Anyway, you can't miss that!

—Meanwhile, Flurry, the downtown holiday pop-up store of locally designed merchandise is set to open on November 9. Participants are still being lined up, but my assumption is that some of these same designers will be represented at a red carpet fashion show happening on November 20 (inside I hope).
