I was thinking, as I went about my customary Sunday morning online window shopping, how lucky we are that common sense has prevailed of late in the outerwear department. With the resurgent popularity of heritage and outdoorsy lines, winter layering isn't about trying to camouflage the practicalities of cold weather gear. On the contrary, common sense utilitarianism is at the fore. And while we here in Oregon already know to look to Pendleton, and have hopefully by now discovered the Portland Filson, Woolrich is also vying for the attentions of heritage brand fans. Lizard Lounge (which looks to be going through some kind of transition—stay tuned on that) carries some of the Woolrich pieces for men: Thick wool jackets, vests, and pants inspired by woodsmen and game hunters that'll keep you protected at the bus stop, too.
