811 E Burnside's Holiday Evening

Posted by Marjorie Skinner on Thu, Dec 9, 2010 at 11:33 AM

Fans and frequenters of the shops and studios at the 811 E Burnside building already probably make the rounds for their always-a-blast First Friday shenanigans, but don't miss out on tomorrow's special holiday evening, from 6-9 pm. Stop by Sword + Fern to scope the shop's New World Apothecary section if you missed it's debut last Friday, plus the Lisa Schonberg-created insect-focused art show, Fieldguided—any one of the specimens mounted in handmade wood shadowboxes would be an excellent art addition to any home, as well as Anna Korte's ready-to-hang framed string sculptures—mini versions of the large installation piece on Sword + Fern's back wall. For the ultimate, she's available to do custom installations on a similar grand scale in your home or workplace, just inquire.

... Plus new jewelry from Anna Weber and Hunter Gatherer(er), and wraps and hoods by plainMADE. Also be sure to stop by Redux, Haunt—they're gathering gift-able merch from some favorite Portland designers like Claire La Faye, Pattern People, Pigeon Toe Ceramics, Clara Seascholtz, Emily Bixler, and Neaplolitan Chocolate & Co., and more in addition to the in-house talent—Golden Rule, Stand Up Comedy, Bombshell Vintage, and Aequanimitas!
