Calendar Item: Behind the Shoji

The upcoming annual Behind the Shoji Art Show and Sale held at the historic Japanese Gardens will showcase an array of one of kind Asian inspired original artwork this year. Glass, pottery, jewelry, wood carvings, textiles, and beautiful gifts will all be for sale. Featured artists include: Japanese woodcarver Masamichi Nitani, ceramic artist David Piper, metal artist Arnon Karamazov, woodblock printmaker Walt Padgett, and many more. Ideal for a romantic date or day adventure with friends, this gorgeous garden event is a must-see.

The show runs July 23 through September 5 and is open during regular Garden hours 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday and from noon-7 p.m. Mondays. Artist demonstrations take place on the weekends throughout the show’s run starting at 11 a.m.
