Event First Thursday: When A Plan Comes Together

My dance card filled up more quickly than usual with First Thursday openings that walk the line between the kindred passions of art and fashion. And it's going to be the most beautiful first Thursday of the year so far, perfect for carousing up and down the West Side. Here's what's on my list: First up is Upper Playground for Zerofriends' Alex Pardee's visit and signing of his new art book, Awful/Resilient. Then Radish Underground is featuring "The Music," a new collection by Betsy & Iya: "Featuring African trade beads and etched stainless steel, each piece in this line is inspired by an actual song from artists like The Dodos, Nina Simone, The National, and others. The folklore behind the trade beads is that they were once made from castoff vinyl records." Also spotlighted are apparel line She-She PDX and visual artist Lori LaBissoniere. Meanwhile Gallery Salomé is hosting a show by Sarah Faith Gottesdiener, called "An Endtimes Methodolgy, Part I." It looks a little something like this:

Lizard Lounge is also once again stepping into the fray with a photo exhibit by Peter Murray and music by the Horse Latitudes and Jennie Wayne, plus you can take 20% off on full price merch during the event (7-10 pm). And finally, Eclexion Boutique will be presenting artist Jennifer Parks, with DJ Patricia Furpurse soundtracking your final moments before finally heading home.
