Emily Christensen of Filly has released the lookbook of her fall 2011 collection, of which she says, "My fall inspiration came from mid-century American modernism in architecture. But not the big names like Frank Lloyd Wright and Richard Neutra. I was attracted to the folkier side, the smaller, everyday artists and designers and the spaces within which they executed their craft. The photoshoot took place on a houseboat docked on an island outside of Portland. Jack and Mary lived there 40 years, she working as a model and he as a wood sculptor. They were inseparable and deeply in love. They passed away in February and the boat was exactly as they left it. Their daughter granted me full access and the mood of the shoot drew on their story." The highlights to me personally are the raw silk dresses and tops in amethyst and black, and I love the tomboy-ish canvas dock pants in pine. See them all here.
