Modified Style Meets Luce

We know of Modified Style as a fun annual event wherein artists of varying experience create runway looks out of salvaged materials in a fun event aimed at raising money for non-profits (my write-up of the most recent edition, back in April, is here). Now they're expanding their horizons with a fall event, but rather than another fashion theme, they've chosen to partner with the newish supper club/restaurant Luce from John Taboada (of Navarre) and Giovanna Parolari (of Una). Along with former Navarre chef John Willis and Edward Fus of Angel Vine Wines, they've conspired to develop a five-course Italian benefit dinner for their favorite non-profits (typically Out to Pasture Farm Sanctuary, Sisters of the Road, and CHAP). Luce's been hosting periodic Italian one-off nights, so check those menus for a sense of what to expect. At $100 a head, I expect it'll be top-notch, and chances are at least one of the three beneficiaries touches a soft spot for you, but you should nonetheless be aware that if you book before Oct 15 for the November 12 event, you can get the $85 early bird special. Anything helps.
