IDOM F/W 2011

Posted by Marjorie Skinner on Wed, Aug 24, 2011 at 2:59 PM

In the issue of the Merc that's about to drop, I got to feature just one of the shots from IDOM's Fall/Winter 2011 collection. Designer Modi Soondarotok is one of Portland most talented and technically impressive designers, and the whole shoot is worth a look not only for the clothing but the styling and perfectly suited backdrop in downtown's the Old Church, which makes me want to install blue wainscoting in every room of my apartment. Of the collection, Soondarotok says, "The Autumn/Winter 2011 collection is inspired by the English Renaissance period from literature, to poetry, to art and its garments. The Elizabethan era has been such a fascination to me since I started to study art history. I'm also intrigued by the meanings behind the clothes, the history and its complicated construction."
