Devi Morris

Posted by Marjorie Skinner on Wed, Oct 26, 2011 at 4:04 PM

On Wednesday, November 2, Parallel is showcasing painter Ruth Shively, whose subjects include everything from wee ballerinas in training to grain elevators. Alongside the art, they'll also be hosting the debut of jewelry from Devi Morris, whose unique shapes take their form from offbeat object-muses like bread tabs or a single scale from a pine cone, rendered elegant in gold, brass, and silver. In addition to getting a first look at a new talent, but you can enter a raffle to win a free pair of Morris' earrings and Shively prints. Plus, they're going right on ahead and using the H word (holiday), with free gift wrapping and gifts with purchases. Plus wine, sparkling and otherwise, to help ease the panicky post-summer separation anxiety brought on by early deployments of the H word.
