Jeffrey Kyle, original owner of Magpie (520 SW 9th) and more recently of the Portland Design Collective, has just announced the opening of his new venture, Funkytown, at 4707 SE Hawthorne, tomorrow afternoon. Partnering with him is Jennifer Faust, the PDC's in-house designer and seamstress. In addition to Kyle's infamously whip-smart eye for vintage, the shop will feature Faust's original, one of a kind designs—they're already dropping hints about a psychedelic-bikini show in the near future—and Kyle's own jewelry designs. He promises it will be "the most FUN store in the city." I like that attitude.
