Come On Down to Funkytown

Posted by Kayla Rekofke on Mon, Feb 6, 2012 at 8:59 AM

Funkytown’s newly opened doors (first mentioned here) are what vintage vixens dream of. Hard to find designer pieces, eclectic accessories, and a wide array of fabulous finds all await you. Proprietors Jeffrey Kyle and Jennifer Faust, the dynamic duo behind Funkytown, couldn’t be cooler either. I popped in last week after a delicious lunch at neighboring Por Que No, and stepped into a Pandora’s box of vintage amazingness. The racks are filled to the brim, with nearly every era represented. From flapper dresses to '70s garb that would make original Woodstook-goers go gaga, Funkytown is the real deal. Although the prices are a bit more than your standard vintage haunts, every piece is in extremely good condition. After chatting with Jeffrey for just a few minutes, it was evident that his passion and knowledge of vintage fashion runs deep. He could speak of each garment almost like an old friend, explaining the era, where it came from, and what designer or fashion movement it belonged to. This ultimately led to an impromptu photo shoot of a couple of my favorite Funkytown gems to share with you guys. Funkytown is located at 4707 SE Hawthorne.
