If you love yarn as much as my kitten and my agoraphobic Aunt Margaret love yarn, you better not miss this weekend's Rose City Yarn Crawl . This year there are 19 participating stores, and a downloadable travel guide to help you plan your yarn-crazed adventure.
There are an ungodly number of events happening all over the place, enough to keep you more than busy all four days. You can get wool dreads by Salon Joie de Vivre at Wynona Studios, try your hand at a spinning wheel at Urban Fiber Arts, knit while watching a Dr. Who marathon (story of my life) at Kathy's Knit Korner, prove that your needles are fast enough to make you the "Last Knitter Standing" at All About Yarn, and so so much more.
There will be drinks and treats for craft-fuel throught the week at Yarnia, All About Yarn, Knitting Bee , and Happy Knits. If your hands start cramping by Saturday from all the manic knitting you will surely be doing, All About Yarn is even offering complimentary hand massages.
Each store is offering a free pattern with purchase, and you can win big baskets of prizes filled with delicious soft things by filling out the 2012 Rose City Yarn Crawl Passport. Click that link, print out the pdf, and take it with you to all the stores. For every store you visit, you are entered to win that store's special prize basket. If you get a stamp from all 19 stores, you are entered into a raffle to win the Grand Prize Basket. Oooh, ahhh, we don't know what's in this yet, but I know I want it.
