Say It With Style

Posted by Clare Gordon on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 12:26 PM

As if the Concordia neighborhood couldn't get any more indulgent, with Extracto, Autentica, Beast, Cocotte, Red Fox Vintage, et al clustered together around NE Killingsworth and 30th, there's a darling new press shop joining the scene. Open as of last Wednesday, Troolie offers cards for every occasion with humor and originality that put Hallmark to shame... not that this is a superhuman feat, but still. A small selection of classy jewelry, party favors, candles, wrapping paper, etc. are selectively scattered around the shop, making a simple task like choosing an anniversary card for your grandparents into a pleasantly distracted endeavor.

It's hard to express how well Troolie's proprietess Kate Fulford has balanced enthusiasm and good taste. The shop has a variety of offerings but never seems cluttered or misdirected, and the friendly staff is eager to help you design your own custom invitations or announcements (the samples I've seen are beautiful). Stop in with your latte from next door or on your way to dinner to peruse this charming corner storefront.
