Browsing through a recent issue of Sunset Magazine I came across an article called “Portland Day Trip” which highlighted a few of Mississippi Ave’s must stop shops, including local long time fave Black Wagon Boutique. Since it seems like everyone in my family is having or recently had a babe, I was excited to learn more about this adorable shop, which is stocked with local and independent designer duds. Even if you don’t have a nugget of your own this is the perfect spot to find a cool gift, or browse their art selection. Black Wagon also designs their own signature series of apparel including onesies, tees, and hoodies. They carry an extensive array of organic and sustainable options not only in apparel, but bedding, toys, footwear and skin care as well. Well-known brands like Missie Munster, Lucky Wang, and local line Little Lark are a few of the standouts to me.
