The fourth annual Modified Style fashion show—which pairs designers of every level of experience, from novice to pro with a trio of local charities (CHAP, The Pixie Project, and Sisters of the Road this year)—is right around the bend on May 6 at Staver Locomotive (2537 NW 29th). In addition to a silent auction, this year's event will feature a new, 24-hour design competition on top of the regular design judging (separate categories for pro and amateur, as is only fair), will be hosted by Jefferson Smith, and DJ'd by Hot Biology. Bonus: I am going to be one of the judges this year (two years ago I was the emcee). It's always been one of the most positive, upbeat, and feel-good shows on the calendar, so come on out and see the often wildly creative designs people come up with (it tends to attract creatives from fields other than fashion design, which makes for some interesting visual cross-pollination).
