How the Institutional Racism of Yesterday Still Reverberates Today
After numerous rumors that have circulated since John Galliano was fired from Dior last year after a racist tirade, his replacement has finally been named. Raf Simons will be taking over the position of creative director and his first collection will debut at the July couture shows. He stepped down as the creative director from Jil Sander in February, a position he had held since 2005, presumably because of this and not, according to some rumors, because he was fired.
Just another story in the never ending game of musical chairs that is the fashion industry.
