Spring Fashion Show Calendar

April showers are said to bring May flowers, but in the meantime you can always find beauty in the numerous upcoming Spring fashion shows. Here is a list of upcoming events, one of which is sure to suit your fancy:

Isaac Hers: On April 21st , Isaac Hers will present Chambers, an exclusive runway premier benefitting Planned Parenthood. Mentioned here, the show will take place at 610 SW 12th. Lots of special guests, an after-party, and an awesome first look at Ms. Seipp’s new line = an event not to be missed! Purchase tickets here.

Choice: Bridal Fashion Show at The Portland Art Museum, Wednesday, April 25th at 6pm. First mentioned here, we can’t wait to see what Leanne Marshall will be presenting. AniA Collection Bridal Boutique will be sending five themed runway segments down the catwalk, in addition to the finale presentation, which will unveil the winning dress of AI student Karina Reed, who will also receive a $1000 scholarship. $20 tickets include a seated spot at a table, appetizers, champs, swag bag, and the chance to meet with vendors pre-show. $10 tickets get you in the door and standing spot for the runway show. Dress For Success Annual Benefit: 12th Annual Celebrate Success with Auction, Dinner, and Fashion Show. This show is benefits The Dress for Success Organization; which provides disadvantaged women with professional attire for the workplace, as well as the tools and support to find a career. The show will feature looks from: Mabel and Zora, Garnish Apparel, Mink, Leanna NYC, Pendleton, Eileen Fisher, and Joy's Uptown. The event will take place on April 27th, at the downtown Hilton Hotel. Tickets start at $150 with proceeds benefitting a great cause! For more details click here.

Popina Swimwear: Saturday, April 28th marks the 6th Annual Sno-Kona Pond Skim event at Mt. Hood Meadows. This event celebrates the last day of the season with a party and fashion show at the Mountain. The event is based around a 100ft pond that is dug out by the end of a ski run, in which contestants dress up in costumes and try to skim over the pond. First prize winner takes home two free tickets to Hawaii! If you don’t wipe out in the first round, you move onto the second round where contestants are judged on best costume, wipeout, tricks and overall performance. In between the first and second rounds is when the fashion show takes place. Eighteen models parade around the pond in their best bikini’s all available at Popina. The store just started carrying Volcom, and is stoked to showcase their new selection in the show. Pond Skim is free to attend, and $30 to enter the competion. Also noteworthy, is Popina’s “Boots n Suits” special running through the end of April. Here’s the deets: Every weekend in April, skiers who wear a swimsuit to Mt. Hood Meadows and upload it to Popina's FB page will receive a 20% off Popina coupon and be entered in a weekly drawing. Prizes include $250 in Gift Certificates from Popina and one weekly $50 in gift card from Mt. Hood Meadows. One grand prize winner for the month will receive two VIP passes to the 6th annual Kona Pond Skim.

Portland Sewing: Fashion Forward Show, Sunday, April 29th at 7pm. This year’s annual Spring Portland Sewing show will focus on 8 new designers, and 2 veterans on the scene, Joshua Buck, and Bryce Black. The event is going down at The Slate 2001 NW 19th Avenue, tix are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. I’m looking forward to seeing what the newbies are gonna send down the runway, as well as local faves Buck and Black. More deets here.
