Street Style from the Portland FLEA

Posted by Elissa Hall on Tue, May 22, 2012 at 10:08 AM

While flea markets do not usually conjure visions of high design, the Portland FLEA is different. The event presents an amalgamation of Portland's finest goods from Portland's finest vintage and design folk. This Saturday marked FLEA's launch and, let me tell you, the crowd delivered some slam dunk styles. No dusty carpet bags or outdated shoulder pads here. I managed to snap some shots outside whilst snacking on Taco Pedaler delights.

Say hello to the most amazing caftan ever. Want one? You will have to travel to the Moroccan souks to find it.

This is "Tiny" (on the left) and her sister. I am jealous of three things Tiny has: moccasins, Fifty Licks ice cream, and a super stylin' mom:

Inside, the FLEA vendors kept it sassy in their own designs:

Here's the super cute duo behind REIN jewelry. LOVE the display and LOVE that collar chain.

Julia Barbee and company get skeptical on the sofa. Do you see that modified t-shirt she's rocking? Yeah, I scored a Snoop Dog version of my very own and haven't taken it off since. My other finds included a gauze-y, 70s blouse from newcomers Scout & Parcel and a pair of blue, bloomer-style shorts. Come find your own treasure next month.
