Nationale has its thumb in so many awesome art shows and performances that we often find ourselves talking around the fact that at the end of the day it is still a store, one of the city's greatest little jumble of things—small food and apothecary items from France, literature, accessories, art, and assorted treasures—that are in effect at the whim of owner May Juliette Barruel. In addition to this month's rad art show and a screening of New Skin for the Old Ceremony (a program of short films on Leonard Cohen) coming up at the Hollywood on July 26, they're also hosting a reception to mark their partnership with Portland-based Btwn Wind + Water, designed by Mariah Rich:
