Oh, waxing, that blissful half-hour during which I forcibly retrain myself from punching my aesthetician between the eyes (hey, I have sensitive follicles). It's a somewhat unnecessary evil, though, so you may as well put it to good use, as Urban Waxx (which, to be fair, has rendered me an almost entirely painless eyebrow treatment in the past) is planning to do with the torturous sounding 24-Hour Waxx-a-Thon, which is thankfully more of a trial for the waxers than the waxees, no doubt especially during those awkward 4:30 am appointments. But hey, it's for charity, so nut up and get some hair ripped out of your skin. For a good cause! On October 6 at 9 am until the 7th at 9 am, all proceeds from waxing appointments will go to benefit Friends of Trees and The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (who you know are no strangers to the waxing wand). Sterling Coffee Roasters, Voodoo Doughnuts, Bridgeport Brewery, Red Hook & Caps and Corks, and Koi Fusion will be there to help everyone through the day. Walk-ins will be welcomed, but to be safe you can book your appointment here.
