On Thursday night the fashion set flocked to the Japanese restaurant Masu for the presentation of Ms. Wood's Spring/Summer collection titled Ikiru. It was an intimate affair with the models on platforms sporting the looks while merchandise from the Fall/Holiday collection was sold, all in the front section of the restaurant.
One thing that always strikes me about Ms. Wood is how designer Alicia Wood consistently sends out clothes that fit her brand's Asian influenced DNA so well, but feel new and fresh each season. With this collection she showed some really wearable and versatile looks like the kimono-style blue/grey top paired with white linen sailor pants, and the super-flattering asymmetrical black dress that could worn for almost every ocassion. The looks were paired with Ms. Wood's trademake wood and leather shoes and fringe bags, which, like her clothes are big hits every season. Based on reactions from the audience, I predict this collection will be no exception.
