If you're like me and don't have to work today, there's a good chance you're lounging in your pajamas as you read this, and don't plan on changing the situation any time particularly soon. But if you think you might be able to summon up some energy and brave the shopping madness later this evening, you can catch the opening night of Tannenbaum Madness on Alberta Street. Starting at 4 PM, stores all along the street will be creating a walking tour of whimsical, creative holiday displays, and will be open until 8 PM each Friday night from now until January 1 to give you some extra time to do your holiday shopping. Also, there will be a tree lighting on December 1 at 4:30 PM at Alberta Central (18th & ALberta), to ring in what was once considered the official start of the Christmas season. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a RuPaul's Drag Race marathon to get back to and a couch that ain't gonna warm itself.
