Fashion The 2013 Golden Globes Roundup

The Golden Globes is my absolute favorite Award Show of the season, simply because it is the only award show that brings together Film and Television Actors, as well as a bunch of random famous people. Everyone is wasted and makes horrible, incoherent acceptance speeches (I’m looking at you Anne Hathaway!), and last night former President Bill Clinton even made a cameo! Here are my picks for best and worst dressed of the night.

Adele: Looking classic, elegant, and exactly how a woman who gave birth just a couple months ago should. Wearing a black Burberry gown with jewel collar detailing and a perfect fire engine red manicure, Adele absolutely nailed it.

Jessica Alba: Firstly, I really couldn’t tell you why she is famous (Honey? or was it Into the Blue?) Regardless, homegirl killed it in Christian Dior. The color, silhouette, and accessories were dead on. The lip color is what put me over the edge. No wonder people still invite her to things.

Lucy Liu- Ms. Liu looked radiant rocking a Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2013 dress. She has landed on lots of the worst dressed lists today; but I am in love with the print, exquisite attention to detail, drape, and fit, and most of all the fact that she took a risk. Fashion is meant to push the boundaries and that’s exactly what this look does.

Anne Hathaway: UGH! My absolute least favorite. I expected better from someone who has Rachel Zoe on speed dial. I mean I know it’s Chanel (spring 2009 to be exact), but the fit is terrible, where are her accessories, and why does she always sound like she ran up a flight of stadium stairs? Frankly, I think it was safe, boring, and it’s not a showstopper for someone who's nominated for so many categories.

Taylor Swift: Taylor, you are only 23, stop dressing like you’re 65. Helen Mirren has far more sex appeal on the red carpet. This Donna Karan number was not age appropriate for Miss Swift. With a high neckline, awkward raisin-like color, and an overdone fussy updo, she just looked frumpy. I’m not saying she should dress like a Kardashian by any means, but have some fun, take a risk, and dress for your slammin’ bod!

Eva Longoria: Talk about trying wayyyy too many trends at once: lace, high slit, plunging neckline, sheer overlay pantie look. Just don’t, Eva. This look is about as good as the last three seasons of Desperate Housewives.

Honorable Mention goes to: JLo and her creepy boytoy, for obvious reasons.
