Fashion Spring 2013 Couture Collections: Part I

Ah, couture season, the season where designers throw convention out of the window and just do whatever the hell they want. While it is somewhat dictated by trends and the like, it is more of an opportunity for fashion houses to pull out all of the stops and give their (rich) customers the extravagant and fantastical garments of their dreams. While most of us will never, ever be anywhere near a place where we could afford one of these amazing get-ups, it is inspiring, and sometimes comical, to check out the latest offerings of these high caliber designers.
This season it seems like anything goes and everyone can find something they like: androgynous suits, feminine skirts and dresses, lace and florals, graphic prints, and collections inspired by different cultures all over the world. The one unifying trend that seems to be present in almost all of the collections is the use of shiny materials along with bold color and prints.
