Small Shops, Big Hearts on Mississippi Ave.

Posted by Elissa Hall on Thu, Jan 31, 2013 at 8:59 AM

Mississippi Ave. continues to thrive as one of Portland's small business destinations and this February the street's association gathers some of its gems to channel a little Valentine's love. “Small Shops, Big Hearts” woos Portland with champagne, chocolate, tarot readings and family activities. Here's a breakdown:

Black Wagon features Valentine crafts for kids and champagne for adults.
Flutter will host tarot readings and Valentine Polaroids.
Gumbo Gifts & Gallery will set up a "For the love of Mardi Gras" photo booth.
Gypsy Chic offers 15% off all sterling silver jewelry and accessories alongside complimentary wine & snacks all weekend.
North Portland Bikeworks will serve Valentine's day broken-hearted bourbon jello shots.
Paxton Gate will showcase a trunk show of local jewelry designers from 4-7pm each day.
Salty's Dog & Cat Shop celebrates their 8-year anniversary and 10% of sales from Feb. 9th and 10th will go to the Underdog Railroad Rescue.

Now go feel the love.
