Although many of you are probably past the age of prom, for you fashionably knowledgeable high schoolers and those of you who may know some high schoolers, please read on.
Portland-based nonprofit organization Abby’s Closet will host its 9th Annual Prom Gown Giveaway on Saturday, March 16 from 8 am-4 pm and Sunday, March 17 from 10 am-2 pm at the Oregon Convention Center. The two-day event is the perfect prom dress shopping experience, giving local high school women a chance to shop among thousands of dresses and walk away with a free prom dress of their dreams.
The event will feature more than 5,000 prom dresses ranging in sizes 0-26 and all of the dresses featured at the event have been donated throughout the year by various retail shops and individuals across the country. Gown accessories will also be featured and will be given away to each attendee at no cost. The event is free and open to the public and high school students must present their student ID or proof of high school registration to enter the event and receive their free dress and accessory.
Abby’s Closet is currently accepting new and gently used formal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, wraps and purses. Click here to learn more about the event, how to donate your gown, make a financial donation or to volunteer.
