You may have seen the work of Portland surface design studio Pattern People at art events like Content or on their own on the walls of gallery spaces, or through big clients like Stussy, Nike, and Old Navy. They are scarily talented and it's no wonder everyone wants a piece. Their latest collaboration is with none other than REIF, one of the most promising and exciting small apparel companies in the city. When they get together it looks something like this:
Says Reif designer Lindsey Reif, "As you may already know, I have been making a collection of turban hats and headbands for about a year now, and they have been very popular in Portland. [Of course I have! The whole town's gone bananas over them!—Ed.] Besides their versatility and wide appeal, the main draw of the headpieces is in the prints and fabrics that I select each season. Thus, the collaboration with Pattern People seemed like a natural transition. Converging on a mutual admiration of Bauhaus art, we came up with two limited edition prints that are fashion forward and colorful and available in two styles, the turban headband and full turban hat."
Debuting for Spring, Yo Vintage! will be the exclusive stockist for the turbans through the month of March, with a launch party planned for First Thursday, March 7. Do not miss!
