Today is First Thursday, and while there are a crapload of artsy things to do per usual, the following events may be of particular interest to to you MODers:
Paul Rudolph Opening Reception at Boys Fort
Boys Fort is kicking off their featured September artist, Paul Rudolph, tonight from 5-9PM with a reception complete with music and drinks. Rudolph is a transplanted Bostonian and his photographs are a unique look at the Portland landscape.
Delaney Allen Opening Reception at Nationale
Nationale is hosting a reception for artist Delaney Allen tonight from 6-9PM. The works on view, titled A Personal Nature, abstract the present moment into poetic evocations of the past. The series will be up through October 27th.
Claudia Meza and Pachiclón Opening Reception at Sword + Fern
Sword + Fern will be hosting an interactive sound installation from Portland-based artist and composer Claudia Meza, with drawings by Mexico City-based artist Rafael Rodríguez Rivera (Pachiclón) through the month of September. The installation, titled Sereno Moreno, was designed exclusively for the walls of Sword + Fern and resonates with the early vibrations of the two artists' music-obsessed youth. The opening reception will take place tonight from 6-9PM.
