This Week's Art Shows

Posted by Elizabeth Mollo on Thu, Sep 5, 2013 at 12:44 PM

Today is First Thursday, and while there are a crapload of artsy things to do per usual, the following events may be of particular interest to to you MODers:

Paul Rudolph Opening Reception at Boys Fort

Boys Fort is kicking off their featured September artist, Paul Rudolph, tonight from 5-9PM with a reception complete with music and drinks. Rudolph is a transplanted Bostonian and his photographs are a unique look at the Portland landscape.

Delaney Allen Opening Reception at Nationale

Nationale is hosting a reception for artist Delaney Allen tonight from 6-9PM. The works on view, titled A Personal Nature, abstract the present moment into poetic evocations of the past. The series will be up through October 27th.

Claudia Meza and Pachiclón Opening Reception at Sword + Fern

Sword + Fern will be hosting an interactive sound installation from Portland-based artist and composer Claudia Meza, with drawings by Mexico City-based artist Rafael Rodríguez Rivera (Pachiclón) through the month of September. The installation, titled Sereno Moreno, was designed exclusively for the walls of Sword + Fern and resonates with the early vibrations of the two artists' music-obsessed youth. The opening reception will take place tonight from 6-9PM.
