Tension Erupts Between City Council and Police Bureau Over City Report
Flashback to last February: I had just received one my favorite gifts ever. A custom “baby monk” necklace by Brooklyn based designer Erica Weiner. Naturally I had to share my good fortune with my mod'lings and tell everyone I know about it. It is indeed a small world after all. Erica Weiner has teamed up with local shop Beam & Anchor for her first ever West Coast pop-up shop happening October 3-10, complete with a vintage inspired installation by the designer. “This is our first foray into any semblance of a retail venture on the West Coast. We have no idea how it’s going to go, but we’re really excited about it,” says Weiner. The designer also divulges that she is on the hunt for the perfect addition to her existing two retail stores, one in Nolita, the other in Brooklyn. “The heart of this business is in New York City, but we have customers all over the country,” says Weiner, “so we want to bring a special, one-of-a-kind store to a sister city like Portland, San Francisco, or Los Angeles.” Here’s to hoping she loves Portland just as much as we all do, and decides to put roots down in the Rose City. The weeklong installation will feature an unreleased collection of antique rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, curated specifically for Beam & Anchor, as well as a sampling from her lower-priced collection of handmade, vintage-inspired costume jewelry. This is one event not to be missed—stop by Beam & Anchor next month to get your mitts on some seriously rad jewels.
