Gladys Bikes, the local women-focused bike shop, is moving to a new location on NE Alberta. To celebrate, they're throwing a little party before officially moving in. Bike-centric clothing line, Quick Study and friends have come together to bring you a group show called “Supermarket at the End of the World.” It will be a night filled with fashion, photography, and film.
Quick Study will show off their latest pieces coming to Amelia (and their online shop) this spring. Shot by Shola, the magic behind many a Quick Study lookbook, will make her public portraiture debut with a selection of bike prints as well as independent projects for sale, while PNCA near-graduate, Jackson Campbell Ward, will be showing an animated film short (which set the tone for Quick Study’s SS14 runway show at Fade to Light last August) and offering attendees a chance to be part of a collaborative piece by creating their own bike drawing, which he will compile after the show and set in motion.
Attendees can also enjoy snacks and drinks, win raffle prizes from Gladys Bikes, Amelia and others, participate in supermarket-themed games and show off their dance moves to upbeat jams by DJ Big Booty Judy.
Oh, and of course there will be a photo booth - just not the kind you’re used to.
