Mostly through the Portland Flea organization, Portland is quietly proliferating its frequency of flea markets. They don't have that generations-old mustiness cultivated quite yet, but it's a fantastic way to ferret through vintage oddities and see the work of small-business start-ups. The latest addition to the rotating schedule (third Sundays at Union/Pine, second Sundays at the Colony in St Johns) is in collaboration with Rejuvenation. They calling it the Sunday Emporium, and it's scheduled for the last Sunday of every month beginning June 29, at 1100 SE Grand. Look for vendors like Demimonde, Caravan Pacific, Mazama, and Portland Apothecary, plus food from Sweetheart Bakery, Taco Pedaler, Kuza Burger, and more. It's set to run through November (skipping the December holiday dates to resume in 2015), but these sunny days are the loveliest to troll for treasure.
